Rostrevor House

Seismic + fire systems

consultants: seddon associates

This project had two main scopes of work:

  1. Upgrading the fire systems by installing a sprinkler system throughout the building and upgrading the fire alarm system.

  2. Seismic strengthening the building by adding a new 2.2m x 1.6m wide reinforced concrete perimeter foundation beam around the building. This transfers the seismic loads imposed on the buildings’ new structural  steel K-frames to the ground.

This work would be relatively simple on a new build, but given the existing building occupies 90% of the site and is on a busy inner city corner, the methodology, planning and staging were key to the successful delivery of this project.
